“Equipment”: all equipment supplied by Wonderland Events including, without limitation, the DJ booth, speakers, lighting, stands, cables and accessories.

  1. Power & Space Requirements
The DJ is self-contained with sound, lighting and music (as booked). The Client must provide two separate 13A, 240V sockets on a minimum 16A supply at the working position and a clear, level working area with sufficient space and minimum 3m height for lighting. This is especially important in marquees.

  2. Electrical Safety
It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure the electrical supply is safe, properly earthed and at the correct voltage. Wonderland Events staff will not connect to any supply they consider unsafe.

  3. Music & Requests
A preferred playlist should be submitted at least 7 days prior to the event. The DJ will accommodate on-the-night requests wherever possible and appropriate for the audience and schedule.

  4. Extensions / Overtime
Performance may continue beyond contracted hours at the Client’s request, subject to venue approval. Overtime is £50 per half hour, payable when requested (cash or immediate bank transfer).

  5. Set-Up & Break-Down
Allow a minimum 60 minutes for set-up before the start time and 60 minutes for pack-down after. The Client must confirm with the venue that this time is available. Set-up fees are included unless otherwise stated.

  6. Access, Load-In & Venue Limitations
Unusual access, lack of nearby loading, stairs, distance from parking, or other limitations must be disclosed before booking as they may affect logistics and cost. The Client is responsible for checking venue restrictions.

  7. Early Installation / Unattended Equipment
If Equipment is installed early and left on site without Wonderland Events staff in attendance, the Client assumes all risk for theft, damage, third-party liability and other losses while in their charge. The Client should confirm insurance cover for the full replacement value (which may exceed £20,000).

  8. Booking, Deposit & Balance
Bookings are confirmed only when the non-refundable deposit clears in our bank. The balance is due 4 weeks before the event unless agreed otherwise in writing. Any changes must be confirmed in writing by both parties. Cancellations must be made in writing (telephone cancellations must be confirmed in writing).

  9. Cancellation by Client
If the Client cancels or the event does not take place for any reason within 28 days of the performance date, the full fee is payable. Earlier than 28 days: the deposit remains non-refundable under clause 8; any remaining balance is not due.

  10. Non-Appearance / Substitution
Wonderland Events will use best endeavours to attend. If prevented (e.g., accident or sudden illness), the Client will receive a full refund of monies paid for that function. Wonderland Events accepts no further liability for non-appearance.

  11. Special Effects & Venue Rules
Some venues restrict bubble, snow, smoke/fog, haze, confetti, sparklers, COâ‚‚ or similar effects. The Client must check restrictions before requesting such effects. The Client is liable for any venue charges arising from their use.

  12. Compliance & Safety Testing
All Equipment and practices conform to applicable Health & Safety and PAT/EMC electrical safety recommendations. Certificates can be provided on request.

  13. Volume, Noise Limiters & Hearing Protection
The Client may request volume adjustments within Equipment and venue limitations. Wonderland Events must comply with venue rules, staff instructions and noise limiters. We may reduce levels to protect guests’ hearing, comply with law/venue rules, or prevent Equipment damage.

  14. Event Management & Announcements
The Client remains responsible for event timings, formalities and announcements (unless otherwise agreed), while Wonderland Events retains operational control of its Equipment and working area for safety and compliance.

  15. Crew Welfare (Long Calls)
Where the DJ/Assistant(s) are required on site for 7 hours or more (including set-up and break-down), the Client will provide a hot meal and soft drinks. If not provided, crew may take a reasonable meal break off-site; costs are borne by the Client.

  16. Damage, Loss & Security
    a) The Client is responsible for any loss of or damage to the Equipment caused by the Client, the Client’s guests, children, venue staff or third-party contractors, other than fair wear and tear or damage caused by Wonderland Events’ negligence.
    b) Liquids & spills: Drinks and liquids must be kept away from the Equipment. The Client must ensure suitable measures (e.g., booth barrier/facade) to prevent guests placing drinks on or near the Equipment.
    c) Children: The Client must ensure children are supervised around the Equipment at all times.
    d) Recovery of costs: The Client agrees to pay the full cost of repair or replacement (new-for-old where replacement is required), plus reasonable delivery, call-out and administration costs, and any proven loss of hire income resulting from the Equipment being unavailable.
    e) No unauthorised handling: The Client must not touch or permit others to touch or move the Equipment without permission. Wonderland Events may reposition or remove Equipment to prevent damage.
    f) Payment timeframe: Amounts due under this clause are payable within 7 days of invoice. Supporting photos/engineer reports/receipts can be provided on request.

  17. Safety, Venue Conditions & Right to Suspend
    a) If Wonderland Events reasonably considers conditions unsafe (e.g., hazardous power, liquids near electrics, aggressive behaviour, overcrowding, unstable staging, weather exposure), the performance may be paused or terminated until resolved.
    b) Time lost due to conditions outside Wonderland Events’ control is treated as time performed; no refund is due.
    c) Wonderland Events retains control over the operation and placement of its Equipment for safety and legal compliance.

  18. Limit of Liability
In the unlikely event of an unsatisfactory or incomplete performance, Wonderland Events’ liability shall not exceed the fee payable for the specific service on that date.

  19. Force Majeure
Wonderland Events is not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road incidents, natural disasters, power failure, acts of terrorism, war, civil unrest, or governmental action.

  20. Exclusion of Certain Losses
Wonderland Events shall not be liable for loss of profits, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings, whether sustained by the Client or any other person, or for special, indirect or consequential loss, save for direct physical damage to tangible property caused by Wonderland Events’ negligence.
